my new creative thing

Yep, it's earrings. It all started when I went to the bead show with Janiece. If you've never been to a bead show (which I hadn't until this one) there are many bead vendors and everything's sold in strands. It's nice because things are much cheaper than they are at a bead shop, but you have to buy a lot. I came home spending much more than I thought possible and with many more beads than I needed. I decided to make some earrings for Jack's school's Fine Arts Show. I sold them for $10 each and 13 of 18 pairs sold!

Since then I've mostly made them for me but I just took another 13 pairs to a consignment store down the street. I haven't called yet to see if they've sold, but I'll be checking on that the next time I remember during store hours. Here are a few favorites. Let me know what you think.

ps - penguin jewelry is the unofficial company name and two of these are photographed in my packaging.

Very nice! Send me some brown ones for my birthday, okay? Or else I'll buy some :) But I do need some earrings with brown... all I have are black or silver or black & silver, in several sizes & variations. Do you have any brown beads?

You can set up your own shop at etsy.com; I know a few people who do that. I don't know if it costs much. But selling them at $10/pair would be pretty competitive pricing and I bet you could sell some on there...

Your earrings are so cute!! I need to buy some. I am glad that I have your blog now and we can keep in touch better. Carl was like peeing his pants he was laughing so hard at Dan's Christmas letter. He really is an excellent writer. Love the German pictures. Very creative!! You really are better than Martha Stewart!!

I realize that this is an old post but I was curious if any of your earrings sold at the consignment store? I think that's neat that you know how to make so much stuff. You really should do a show or something. You're very creative.
