performers
Jack and Sam had their first recitals last week. They both did great! Jack also played the cello in church on Mother's Day (while I accompanied him on the piano.)

Luke is talking
Luke is now almost 2 and he's saying all sorts of things. It's very cute when he'll do it. I have several other videos where I'm trying to get him to talk and he just laughs at me. This morning he woke up saying "happy, happy, happy". Thankfully most of the time he is happy.

another one of charlie
I think all my videos are of Charlie, but I was going through the archives and found this. It was right after we got the new camera, right before Luke was born. (Charlie was 3). Charlie didn't realize Dan was taking a video so he kept smiling for the picture. It's pretty cute.

rock band elmer style
here's the jeff elmer family band. casey has to be the best screamer/singer we've ever had in our house (with dan a very close second). also, check out the drumstick twirling by dan in the second one. amazing.
sorry you can't hear the songs very well, the TV wasn't very loud. the first song is ballroom blitz the second is sabotage. (if you don't know what either of these songs sound like i put them at the top of my playlist so you can hear.)

bagpipes
also at the funeral was my uncle jamie playing the bagpipes. he played a song (not sure which one) while they brought the casket from the car to the burial site and then these 2 songs while the casket was lowered. i'm not sure what the first song is but the second is amazing grace twice.
my grandpa was scotish and my mom and aunts always did highland dancing growing up. i'm not sure if any of the other uncles learned how to play the bagpipes but this uncle actually went on his mission to scotland (after already learning to play bagpipes). my grandma and grandpa also went on a mission to scotland in the early 80s and that's where my grandpa died.

charlie gets ready for bed . . .
At least, that's what he thought he was doing.
(So sorry for the sideways camera, there should be a way to turn the video, like you can a photo).
And yes - I did make the hat and the shorts, but not at the same time. He usually only wears them in public.

no training wheels
Jack and Sam worked on this only a few times before Sam was pretty much a pro (well, sort of.) Yay Sam!

Here are two videos from the aquarium in Maui. These little things were so cool to watch.

charlie sings
One day in December we tried to teach the kids Angels We Have Heard on High for Family Home Evening. They looked at us the whole time with blank stares. Apparently they all learned it anyway, because they all sing it now. I guess they were listening.
