just a few of the reasons we're going away

We finally got some tickets today. For Hawaii. We're going to Maui. Neither of us has ever been there. We want to relax together (which is why we picked Hawaii, rather than Paris or Rome.) Today I wish we were leaving tomorrow, but we have to wait another 2 months or so. Here's why I'm so excited!

1. I won't get spit up on for one whole week.

2. Sleep.

3. We'll get to do anything we want at any time of day.

4. I won't have to referee any fights.

5. When we have "alone time" we won't have to block out someone at the door screaming/crying/whining, "I want Daddy! I want Daddy!"

6. No poopy diapers.

What a WONDERFUL thing to look forward to. We went to Hawaii when Porter was 2 months old and I've wanted to go back ever since. It would be oh so great with no kids.

The key question about this little gettaway is: "who's taking care of the kids?" Why does it seem that every other person on earth has a friend or family member willing to watch their kids while they go away . . . not for a night, but for a week!!?? And not once per decade, but a couple times a year!!?? Unfortunately we have been cursed with friends and family who think our time with young children and a marginally profitable backyard farm business are the "happiest time in our lives" that we'll look back on with fondness. @#$**!! Actually they probably just don't care and aren't stupid enough to agree to wipe noses and change diapers for a few hours, let alone a week. So yeah, yeah, good for you, rah, rah, you deserve it. But secretly we despise you and your good fortune!

Kidding!! Well . . . kind of.

Yeah! You'll have to let us know how it is. WE leave in a month for our cruise. Mar. 28. I am so looking forward to it. I love not cooking, cleaning, or doing anything!! We are starting to become spoiled and liking it too much. Hawaii is going to be next year for us. So excited for you!!

So the real question is who is the lucky one who gets to watch the kids!!!Maybe they could take them to Disneyland for a week! So I guess this means you are not coming to Peru? By the way your package came today--THANKS!

Oh how fun! We were supposed to do Hawaii this year for our 10 year anniversary, but another little person joining the clan put a halt to those plans. So enjoy it for us too!
