what happens when there's no tv or video/computer games for a week!

Yes - I am a mean mom! The kids were out of control with summer TV time and weren't helping me around the house. So I took everything away for a week (including the game Dan had just rented). Besides people getting along nicely and being creative - I also got more help with cleaning the house. Maybe I'll take it away for the rest of the summer :)

We did that a year or two ago and it worked out pretty well for us too! Lately my kids haven't been watching much tv but the Wii use is a little much... but they really don't play it unless their chores are done, so I guess I need to come up with more chores for them :)

This summer I'm making them read for as much time as they watch tv or play video/computer. It's working out better than watch-all-the-TV-you-can (which we've done in summers past.)

I've got to put a stop to the watch-all-the-tv-you-can. And get more specific with the chores. Glad to hear everyone get along nicely without it. But can I stand the asking every two minutes when they can play Wii?

oops, sorry we were watching when you got home yesterday. Good idea though. We really haven't watched TV much since the kids have to pay for it (in passes) but they do like to spend passes on computer. They rack up a few hours a day.
